Dante Aguilar started playing the cello under the tutelage of Mrs Bea Balli in the public school system. Aguilar is an alumnus from the prestigious Vidal M. Trevino School of Communications and Fine Arts in Laredo, TX. Dante showed his playing potential at a young age by being the principal chair cellist in the Laredo Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and Aguilar received distinct accolades at Texas Solo and Ensemble competitions. Aguilar is a current student at Texas A&M International University where he is getting his Bachelor in Music Education and performance on a full ride studying with Brendan Townsend. Aside from his busy schedule at school, Aguilar is an active player in the area where he performs regularly with the Laredo Philharmonic, Chamber Orchestra of Laredo and is the cellist for the Tramonto Trio. The Tramonto Trio actively performs outreach programs that promote classical music in a predominately Hispanic region along the Texas-Mexico border. His recent accomplishment is being able to play with the world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma during his Bach Project Day of Action tour in Laredo Tx. When Aguilar is not performing, he is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys fishing, kayaking, and hiking.
