Jailene Rivera, New Symphonic Project Manager



Jailene Rivera is a young flutist from San Juan, Puerto Rico. She began her studies in flute at the Escuela Libre de Música Antonio Paoli in Caguas, Puerto Rico, under the tutelage of Professor Carrion. Jailene in 2008 was selected to participate in the first boarding student program "Experiencia Sinfónica". This experience allowed her to be among the musicians of the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra (OSPR), in rehearsals and performances in Sala de Festivales Antonio Paoli del Centro de Bellas Artes de Santurce, Luis A Ferré. This experience marked her life forever, for the sense of dedication was steeped in her heart and decided to pursue serious studies under the instruction of the principal flutist of the OSPR: Josué Casillas.

Since 2011, Jailene attends the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music (CMPR), an institution where she has served in various ensembles such as: Symphony Orchestra, the Concert Band, the "Big Band", the Flutes Ensemble and chamber music groups. Also, Jailene has been highlighted by attending and participating in students concerts, departmental concerts, and masterclasses of flutists as Ransom Wilson (2016), James Strauss (2016), Elena Yakovleva (2015), Ahlelí Pimienta (2015), Marco Granados (2014), Marina Piccinini (2014), among others. Jailene was part of the Student Council at the Conservatory, and traveled together the CMPR Flutes Choir to perform at the National Convention Flutes in Las Vegas (2012). It is worth mentioning that the ensemble received very good ratings and reviews from the professors of the Conservatory and OSPR musicians. Among his recent accomplishments Jailene Rivera received the second prize of Soloists Competition of the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico (2015), an award that allowed her to debut as soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory. In addition, a few months ago she was accepted by listening to the international festival "Le Domaine Forget Music and Dance Academy" effort that allowed her to play in master classes for two of the best flutistis of this generation: Emmanuel Pahud (Berlin Philharmonic Principal Flutist) and Denis Bouriakov (Los Angeles Philharmonic). Also, this summer the young Jailene Rivera was recommended to participate in the Nuevo Mundo Festival and Academy in Aruba, where she had the good fortune to appear in several concerts, including one offered on the cruise "Free Winds." As the professional field , Jailene has had the opportunity to share the stage with the Concert Band of Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico Symphony, the Municipal Band of Caguas, among other groups. it is important to mention that a year is part of students' Live Performing Arts Studio "under the direction of flutist Mindy Heinsohn.
