Dominic LaMorte is a New York City based Upright & Electric Bassist, Composer, & Arranger. Originally trained as a classical percussionist, Dominic first picked the Bass up at age 12, and pursued the two instruments with equal passion and determination, performing all throughout the greater New York area. At age 15, Dominic began performing with the Dowling College Symphony Orchestra, and at age 16 he made his Lincoln Center debut, performing with Gemini Youth Symphony (GYS).
Currently enrolled at The New School for Jazz & Contemporary Music in NYC where he is a student of Jeffrey Carney, Dominic has spent his recent years studying various types of jazz, folk, and contemporary music. His compositions/arrangements span a wide array of genres, and can be heard in many musical settings, such as string ensembles, funk groups, and jazz bands.
